ICYMI: Serenity from As a Man Thinketh by James Allen

Exactly one month ago, I received an email, like I am sure many of you did, from Bob Proctor – a man who I have come to admire and respect greatly since he appeared in The Secret, suggesting that people reading that email stop and take the time to physically write out a the Serenity chapter from the book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen and get back to him a month later. This was a challenge that I really thought would be neat to take part in as I am always fascinated by such things, so I set out immediately to start writing it out.

I started at my desk, but became distracted by my little ones, so I moved out to the yard, but still I found myself distracted even hearing them carrying on from a distance, so I got into my vehicle and proceeded to write the whole thing out while sitting in the driver’s seat. I had no idea it was quite SO long, but I persevered and after writing on every square corner of paper that I could find, I had done it! It took almost 30 minutes exactly.

Now, I don’t know about you, but in today’s busy world it can be difficult to find 5 minutes, let alone 30, so I was a little worried about the prospect of not being able to complete the challenge. The next day I was met with twice the usual work load, which made it even more difficult to imagine stopping to write it out for 30 minutes, so I instead chose to read it. At first I felt bad doing it, but I thought about the idea of just doing what you can and went with that. The days that followed were no different, but I did read it every day. Then, yesterday, the last day, I read it out loud and recorded it.

There is a text version here, an audio version here and a video version here.

Before I get into all the good that came of it, for me, I would suggest that you do the same thing and either watch it, listen to it or read it. Try it once a day for 30 days and you will surely experience something profound in that time!
